Samsung Galaxy M21
Design
The Galaxy M21 from Samsung is the next phone after the Galaxy M20. It is just below the Galaxy M31. Samsung got some design ideas from the Galaxy M30s, or to put it another way, it looks a lot like the Galaxy M31, which just came out. Plastic is used to make the Galaxy M21 and most other phones in the M line. This helps the company keep the prices low. But that also makes the phone a little more sturdy than one made of glass and metal.
Display
The smartphone has a 6.4-inch screen on the front, with a waterdrop-shaped notch that holds the selfie camera. For a smartphone in this price range, it’s fine that the sides have bezels and the top is thin with a big chin.
Performance
The Exynos 9611 chip was used in the Galaxy M30s, the Galaxy M31, and the Galaxy A51. Even though it’s not a new engine, it doesn’t offer anything new in terms of speed. The Exynos 9611 has eight cores: four ARM Cortex A-73 cores clocked at 2.3GHz for high performance and four ARM A-53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz for low performance. The Mali-G72 graphics are also built into the chip.
Camera
The M21 has three cameras on the back: a 48-megapixel main sensor with an aperture of f/2.0, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor that makes the bokeh effect better and more accurate.
Another good sensor is the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The 5-megapixel depth sensor does its job well too. We thought the ultra-wide shots were a little too soft and didn’t have as much clarity and colour as we had hoped. What the depth camera does, though, is properly outline the face during Live Focus shots and blur the background without leaving out the edges.
